BBC Ideas: AKKADIAN

the project

We were commissioned to create a film about the world’s first writing system, which was developed on clay tablets thousands of years ago, even before Egyptian hieroglyphs. As a huge fan of ancient history, this was a dream project for me. I spent a lot of time digging through translated tablets in the British Library Archives, looking for compelling details and hidden gems, like a tablet showing the original version of the Noah’s Ark story. I also helped source contributors for in-person interviews, and I voiced the film myself. (Need a ‘neutral teen’ voice? I’ve got you).
